We set off early in the morning trolling almost immediately out from Port Allen harbour. We trolled around with four lines with four different types of lures to target any type of predatory fish, they ran 4 marlin fishing reels, two were extra heavy duty by looks of them.
It was two hours into our fishing charter when my rod hooked up a Mahi-mahi, weirdly enough I saw some debry floating past so I think that’s where it was hiding because I’ve read and heard that Mahi-mahi often hide under floating debry. The cool thing was that I caught the only fish on the charter and it was my first ever Mahi-mahi, ticking off one more on my bucket list.
I found the boat very stable, a Bertram 33′ sport fisher, Captain Darrin was great along with his deckhand, I would go out with them again.
